What the Trees Witnessed (triptych)
Three nocturnal polaroids where bodies dissolve into darkness and only fragments remain. Overexposed leaves flicker like evidence of something briefly shared—an encounter suspended between risk, longing and disappearance.

A Fuji Instax photograph of a deer, small and relatively distant in the frame, as seen through the ironwork gate of, what I presume is, a mausoleum in Ross Bay Cemetery. I found the photograph in the hollow of a tree in the cemetery while walking the dog, which was fortuitous, as I am in the middle of the beginning of production of a film which concerns an anecdote I was told about a site “where the deer come to die.” The site is not the cemetery depicted in the Fuji Instax photograph.
