Little Skies

Moving Image Art for Youth

November 7 & 8, 2026

Produced by the team behind the acclaimed Antimatter [media art] festival, celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2027.

We believe that children possess the openness, imagination and unbounded nature to optimally interact with experimental film and video, or artist’s moving image work. With Little Skies we aim to bring them together. The inaugural event will be held this November 7 and 8 in Victoria, Canada and online. Little Skies will feature programs of works lovingly selected for a young audience and screened in a friendly, comfortable environment, as well as a hands-on workshop and other activities.

Little Skies will introduce a new and critically formative audience to this expansive and dynamic art form to the benefit of both.

We are looking for moving image works for inclusion in the first iteration of Little Skies. They should be suitable for children and youth, roughly kindergarten to preteen. Works should not be longer than 10 minutes, and should have been produced in the past decade. Works to be included will be confirmed by October 2, 2026. Screening fees paid.
